In the Last Month of the Year
December. Snow. Cold weather. Pine trees, twinkling lights, and presents. The end of another year.
This year has been a blur, passing so quickly that I'm pretty amazed that we're even past April! This month's word of the month is reflection. I always feel quiet and meditative in December, thinking about all the things I have done and all the things that I'd like to do; things I'd like to change and things I'd like to continue; things I'd like to learn and in which ways I want to grow.
What have you accomplished this year? What were the high points, and what were the low points? What made you feel good, what important things happened in your life, and how do you feel differently than you did last year?
This year I got bought a camera and began to take photos. I learned how to bind books. I started a blog! I travelled to several countries. I realised many things about myself, and I realised that there is so much left to learn. I took a year off of doing and had a year of mental growth, of sorting and discovering and finding out exactly what it is that I want, need, and dream of. Though I'm not nearly finished yet, I feel that I am now ready to take a first leap into something entirely new and challenging.
Happy last month of 2009!
